The construction sector is the major component of development and economic progress in the country. From the basic infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, roads and residential houses up to mega projects like dams, agri-business firms and bridges are some of the major outcomes of the construction sector.
The expansion of urbanization is unthinkable without the construction sector as vividly stressed in the second Growth and Transformation Plan. It is clear that more construction work is highly needed to speed up further the economic growth.
As migrant rural labour could be easily absorbed in urban centres, the booming construction sector has the potential in creating thousands of jobs for both skilled and semi-skilled labour forces.
