On Sunday, the organised labour, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) called on President Muhammadu Buhari to use the opportunity of the proposed economic conference to come up with policies that could be enacted to pull the country out of its current economic woes.
The NLC and TUC believed that the state of the economy had never been as bad as what it is going through now, ever since the civil war, reiterating the fact that the economy had stopped working.
The organised labour said if Nigeria was to come out of this crisis anytime soon, quick solutions to the current economic challenges were needed, promptly.
In separate interviews with a newspaper agency on Sunday, the General Secretary of the NLC, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, and the President of the TUC, Mr. Bala Kaigama, mentioned that the organised labour was not invited to the crucial economic retreat.
