An international conference on cities and climate change science will be held in 2018 to further develop the scientific understanding of climate change and cities, in support of the implementation of the Paris Agreement, the New Urban Agenda, and the Sustainable Development Goals. Cities interested in hosting this Conference are invited to apply by 15 January 2017.
At its session in Bangkok on 20 October 2016, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) announced plans to hold an international Cities and Climate Change Science Conference in early 2018.
Hosting the 2018 Cities and Climate Change Science Conference conference will be a huge opportunity to raise awareness of climate change and the role of local government in the achievement of the Paris Agenda.
